Literature Review

A literature review aims to provide an overview of the previously published work on a specific topic, presenting a general image of the existing knowledge on the topic under question. A systematic review is often classified separately as it is a scholarly synthesis of the evidence on a clearly formulated question that uses systematic and explicit methods to reduce bias when identifying, selecting, and critically appraising relevant research. A systematic review extracts and interprets data from studies included in the review.
